Do you take insurance?
If you don’t take my insurance, can I still use it?
Yes! For therapy (not coaching) I take insurance, and encourage you to use it. I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and out-of-pocket (OOP) payments.
Aetna & BCBS: I submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. I encourage you to contact your insurance to learn more about your plan’s mental health benefits, including any costs for sessions.
OOP: Sessions are 45 minutes long. You’re welcome to use your HSA/FSA card to pay for sessions. Please check with your insurance company to see if you have out-of-network benefits. I can provide receipts or a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. For session rates, please contact me directly.
Effective January 1, 2022, the “No Surprises Act” went into effect, protecting clients from surprise medical billing. This act requires all healthcare providers to offer a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) to patients who are either uninsured or who choose not to use their insurance for healthcare services. If applicable, your GFE will outline the expected costs for mental health care services. Please note that the GFE won’t include any unforeseen costs that may arise during treatment.
How do I know if I need therapy or coaching?
Therapy is indicated when you’re dealing with a mental health diagnosis, trauma, substance use, or symptoms that significantly interfere with your daily functioning. Coaching is a better fit when you’re already functioning well but feel stuck, unfulfilled, or like you’re not living up to your potential. You don’t need a diagnosis.
In both cases however, we can look at the “why” behind your longstanding patterns, and how to change behaviors. Many people benefit from both. Either way, if you’re not sure, reach out and we’ll figure it out together.
Do you work with Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing clients?
Yes, I’m fluent in sign language and proudly support the D/deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities. Please note: I use PSE/SEE & SimCom more than ASL.
